A guide to local wildlife in Guernsey, Channel Islands.
Below you will
see some links to the main parts of the website with some guides to
specific groups of insects (and other invertebrates), a guide to
moth trapping, a guide aimed at children for garden insect hunts
during lockdown as well as links to image
gallieries.
I have spent a lot of the last few years trawling through leaf litter and detritus collected from different parts of the island in order to map the distribution of various insects and other important creatures as well as sweeping my net through grass and wildflowers looking for Hemiptera and Ladybirds close to home.
More recently I have added studies of groups of invertebrates below as I search Guernsey in order to check the accuracy of older records and find out if species have either become localy extinct or alternatively new species which can be added to the local lists.
I will be adding more photo's and pages as I study relevant groups.
I have been loading regular low resolution images and information to my FaceBook page at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/guernseywildlifephotographer/ please visit and like my page to see further images and updates about Wildlife in Guernsey.
I have also included some links top right for my social media pages if that is your preferred medium for occasional updates and new photographs.
